Every thread here in Entertainment is about digital things like games, TV, and movies. Whatever happened to good ol' books? Here's where you can talk about your favorite books, a recent book you've read, or anything book-related. Paper quality or text size, paperback versus hardback, y'know, whatever. Comic books work too!
For me, some of my favorite books were from the Hitchhiker Guide to the Galaxy series by Douglas Adams. A popular choice, yes, but that doesn't mean it isn't good. Been reading them since I was about twelve(ish), and have probably read through all of them about three or four times each.
Besides that, my favorite series is The Stainless Steel Rat by Harry Harrison, which I've not yet found anyone else who's heard of it other than my father. In a well advanced galactic society with matching law enforcement and security precautions, a man chooses a life of thievery and criminalism and becomes successful at it. Travels between planets, saves galaxies, etc. I think it'd be an amazing basis for a videogame, kind of a cross between Thief III and KotOR.
As for recent, the latest book I've finished was Red's story from The Best of Pokemon Adventures. Just all kinds of good.
And comic books, I just finished reading through all of the Cassandra Cain Batgirl's storyline, and a couple years ago I read through all of the Deadpool storyline up til about 2008. Plan to start reading Zatanna comics, Hellblazer, and Nightwing at some point.

Really nice post here man.
You mentioned the Pokemon Manga, I highly suggest you check out The Electric Tale of Pikachu. My favorite among all the mangas. Actually, I don't like Pokemon Adventures too much.
As far as reading, I don't really have much time to do that. Well, I do, but I don't feel like making more time for it. I have work, school, girlfriend, cat, designing, ect. I did read all 7 of the HPs recently. I want to read them again.

Ya know, I didn't really care too much for Pokemon Adventures either, but I haven't read any in ages. I'll have to see if I have any lying around.
I've been reading World War Z by Max Brooks over this past week or so, and I have to say it's pretty awesome. Max Brooks has included some pretty good imagery that has left me paranoid while I'm walking home from work in a quiet town at night. Seriously, this town closes down to near absolute silence around 10pm.
