Rulers (Photoshop)

For those who have photoshop, (not sure if gimp has it or not) do you use Rulers in your designs? For those who have no clue what I am talking about, open up photoshop, click "view" and click "rulers".

It makes it so you can drag guide lines onto your canvas and allows you to align things/size things to perfection.

It is a great tool, and if you dont use it you need to start. It's haaaandy dandy.

I don't usually use the rulers in Photoshop.. but I do use them in Adobe Illustrator quite often. I like the rulers feature for lining things up perfectly without having to 'eyeball' it. Also - rulers are automatically available for use when you create a new document in Gimp. In all of the graphic programs I use, rulers are indeed available. (This includes the three mentioned along with Macromedia Fireworks and Paint Shop Pro.)

Rulers are in my opinion the most essential tool in Photoshop. I always use the 960 grid system (http://960.gs/) when doing client work.

I have very rarely ever used the rulers. I probably should for things like backgrounds and stuff, though.

In a digital imaging class I took in high school, Our teacher told us almost everytime we opened up photoshop to turn on the rulers.

Hm, maybe I should start using it. I do have a problem with centering things properly. lol

xD Yeaaaah. It's a good habit to get into. You can align things precisely.

I've been missing out my entire life. This is a wonderful tool lol.
